Behind the Scenes

From an Idea to an Experience

What started as a simple idea, a few plans, and countless conversations eventually became MBMC HackFest 2026.

The event was more than just a hackathon. It created a space where students could think differently, build boldly, collaborate, compete, and bring their ideas to life.

The journey from the initial idea to the final event required much more than writing plans down. It required coordination, communication, ownership, problem-solving, and a team willing to keep moving forward when things became difficult.

Preparation & Execution

Behind the Scenes

A successful event is rarely visible only through what happens on the final day.

There are countless conversations, planning sessions, decisions, preparations, coordination tasks, last-minute changes, and small details happening behind the scenes.

This experience taught me that organizing an event is very different from simply attending one.

You have to think about the experience from the perspective of everyone involved—from participants to mentors, volunteers, organizers, and the wider college community.

Teamwork & Energy

Building Together

One of the most meaningful parts of HackFest was seeing different people contribute toward the same vision.

Every person who contributed their time, ideas, energy, and effort played a part in bringing the event together.

Teamwork & Synergy
Proactive Ownership
Event Coordination
Empathetic Leadership
Agile Problem-Solving
Heart of the Event

The Students

The participants were at the heart of the event.

HackFest gave students an opportunity to move beyond simply learning concepts and actually build, experiment, collaborate, compete, and present their ideas.

The goal was not only to determine winners.

It was to create an experience that students would remember and hopefully build upon in the future.

Reflection & Takeaway

From Planning to a Legacy

This experience changed the way I think about events and leadership.

An idea is only the beginning.

Turning that idea into something meaningful requires people who are willing to take ownership, work through uncertainty, solve problems, and keep pushing forward.

MBMC HackFest 2026 became a memory for everyone involved—but hopefully it is also the beginning of something that can continue to grow.

This is only the beginning.
